Litho, Screen and Pad printing
Litho, Screen and Pad Printing.

Litho and screen printing are default choices when producing CDs and DVDs in larger quantities (but we can print in batches of 50+).

'Pad printing' is used for some 3.5" disk and USB orders.

Litho Printing: Arguably the highest quality print for 'Pressed' and now 'Recordable' CDs & DVDs.

Litho printing reproduces your design using a high resolution, colour calibrated 'plate' based print. Ink is applied via printing plates and then UV cured, giving a tough, durable finish.

Litho print is usually seen in the retail and rental DVD markets and is becoming the default standard for all professional full colour CD and DVD printing.

Screen Print: The ideal choice for 'spot' colour designs and is great for both 'Recordable' and 'Pressed' media, giving your disc a 'Retail Quality' finish.

Most retail Software & Music CDs are manufactured with a screen printed face design. Ink is applied via a fine 'saati mesh screen' which is produced by a photographic process using film produced from your artwork. Ink is again UV cured to give a tough, durable finish.

Screen printing offers a good resolution print, especially for solid 'spot' colour designs, and reproduces tints at a high 110 Lines Per Inch, giving you a professional finish.

Pad Print: Occasionally offered in the UK as a printing process for CDs or DVDs. Not an option we normally recommend for optical media, but we do use Pad Printing to print 3.5" floppies and USB Flash drives. The ink is transferred to the media from a printing plate via a silicone pad and then either air dried or baked. Ideal for text or 1 or 2 spot colour logo's where registration is not critical.
