Ideally suited to short runs of CDs or DVDs, with low set-up costs but longer individual disc printing times when compared to Screen and Litho. Digital CD & DVD printing prints at a high resolution and your artwork is easier to prepare. Print is applied directly to the disc using CD or DVD blanks specific to the chosen digital printing process. Easy set-up means 'Pre Production' samples are a realistic option, allowing you to approve an actual example of a printed disc prior to the full run, useful if you need to check a printed disc against other printed items in your project. There are 3 key digital printing technologies though each printer manufacturer has their own variations: |

Colour Inkjet really came of age with the advent of Taiyo Yuden "Watershield" media which gives you a full colour, high resolution, gloss, photo quality and moisture resistant finish. Our budget service gives you a full colour, high resolution print on a 'matt' CD. Ideal for applications where cost is critical and where durability is less of an issue. |

Black Thermal print is deal for simple text & logo designs or printing serial numbers in Black. 'Black thermal' prints directly on to standard CDs and DVDs and uses a ribbon based print engine. This means that you can print on reflective silver CDs & DVDs in small quantities. Clients use 'Black Thermal' for short runs of Demo audio CDs or 'In-House' software distributions. |

Colour Thermal. Gives you 'short run', full colour printing directly on to the CD or DVD, offering a gloss, permanent finish. Our technology prints using a ribbon based CMY process. Black, or 'k' is a composite of Cyan, Magenta and Yellow. This process works well with 'picture disc' designs and can also handle solid blocks of colour. Colour accuracy is helped by our custom made white 'Duplication Grade' printable media. |
